Over the years...
I started my career as a graphic artist in the Houston area, before I became the administrative and print/production assistant at Adworkshop, and eventually worked my way up to art department manager. Needless to say, I gave up the big city with the big job to come home to Lake Placid. I started at Sir Speedy (now Compass Printing Plus) in 1989. At the time, the print shop was in the same building as the agency. Sharing a building with Adworkshop made it easy for me to grasp the advertising business, so in 2001, it made sense to move to Adworkshop to manage the busy art department's print and ad schedules and budgets. Today, I still assist with and prepare print production budgets and estimates, in additional to several other administrative duties.
Our employee-owned agency, as well as the building that houses us, has evolved into a very hi-tech place of business. Technology hasn't passed us by; sometimes I barely recognize the place where I've worked for the past 22 years. I don't regret a day that goes by and I'm amazed that in this day and age, Adworkshop has kept an "old-fashioned" administrative position in place. When you call us, you won't get a computerized message, you'll get ME! I am here to help and assure your marketing needs will be met. A very important job!
