Tom and Adele Connors created Adworkshop in 1977. A two-person team with a small budget and a big dream – one of their earliest gigs was printing posters for Fischer skis during the 1982 Winter Olmypics in Lake Placid. They didn't have a 10 year business plan, they weren't sure their venture would amount to anything, and they only had a few hundred dollars between them to get Adworkshop off the ground.

Three decades later, Tom and Adele's small business gamble has expanded from a traditional print and advertising shop, to a full-fledged digital marketing agency with a growing public relations division, an integrated website development team and 27 employees.
In 2007, Tom and Adele initiated an ESOP plan for the employees to eventually take full ownership of the company - a risky move in a tricky economy. But we're still here and busier than ever.
Last year, Adworkshop certified as a Women-Owned Business through New York State's Division of Minority and Women Business Development. The employee owners of Adworkshop and Inphorm thank Tom and Adele for their risky venture.
Without which, we wouldn't be here.
Just the facts, no flowers
To qualify for MWBE certification, a company must be 51 percent owned, managed and controlled by a woman or a minority as defined by state and federal laws. All MWBE's undergo a stringent review process across all facets of their operations, finances, facility and personnel before receiving certification.
